Victim Blaming is not okay

by - April 19, 2017

Simply talking about it can be hard enough. When it comes to victim blaming and sexual assault, we already know that there's a huge problem. Victim blaming attitudes marginalize the victim and make it harder to come forward and report the abuse.

Victim blaming also reinforce what the abuser has been saying all along that it is the victim's fault this is happening (how rude!). It is NOT the victim's fault or responsibility to fix the situation, it is the abuser's choice. By accusing the victim, others can see the victim as different from themselves. It is important to know that sexual assault is never the victim's fault. It doesn't matter what they're wearing, sexual assault is attacker's fault."Kung ayaw niyo mabastos magsuot ng tama" as if clothing affects that. Rape has nothing to do with the clothing guys!I have seen countless examples of victim blaming, victims deserve respect as they engage in the healing process.

Respect a woman's body - and her right to it

This is heartbreaking! Im so sick of hearing victims being blamed. They did not choose to be raped. Regardless of how they dressed, or how much they are drunk. It is terrible to see victims try to become survivors while being blamed for it somehow by others. Society needs to get it together, no one asked to be raped! Instead of victim blaming, we should be looking closer at why we have a society where so many people think that there are excuses for rape.

Eya
